What Technology?

My school district has the dopiest IT team in the whole world. Since last week, we have experienced the inability to login (teachers only), the whole network crawling, and especially the new filtering software, which is set, apparently, to protect everyone from everything. Among other things that are blocked, we have search engine sites (like Google and everything associated with Google, which at this point is everything), mail sites, so-called "personal web pages" aka anything remotely like a blog (which is almost everything that isn't Google) and ... I don't know what else. Pictures. Youtube, of course, even though that's the source for a lot of things teachers use (like the President's press conference last week.) Arrgghhh.

For about an hour today, however, blogs were suddenly coming up, but I couldn't comment. So I just want to tell the empress that I'm glad her procedure went well. (I was able to type out my comment but not post it.)

School is weird.

K's interview went well, and she's going to the other school district on Friday. My fingers are not yet uncrossed.

Lost tonight, always a good thing. I'm going to settle in now, and put the heating pad on my always freezing feet.

  1. the folks who run the schools these days have no common sense at all, why not just take the damn computers OUT OF SCHOOL if the panic police who filter out everything continue to ruin education.
